I wanted to apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard, I am 70 years old and unlike other my age I am not a techno phobe and can do most things online but this process was so confusing.

I tried to apply online, downloaded the form but the information was not clear on what I had to send as proof of my hearing difficulties, I also could not work out where to send the form which was very frustrating.  Our local train station could not help, they only had a National Rail Enquiries number, I got a person who could not understand me nor me him – again I very frustrated.  I was trying to buy the railcard so I could make a trip to Arbroath where I used to live when I based at RAF Condor in the seventies.

To my surprise when I found the number for Arbroath it was a breath of fresh air, explained exactly what I needed to do, the address I would used to apply and made the process easy for me.  I received the card yesterday so my wife and I are looking forward to heading to Arbroath and revisiting old haunts!

Thank you
